Today we went to the new area we will be helping in and these pictures are in the Waterston area and of the estuary of the Irish sea and the Cleddau River where fresh water meets the sea water. The ferry you see actually transports between Wales and Ireland. Isn't this a beautiful area? We had lunch with the Branch Mission Leader right here overlooking this awesome site.

This is one of our flat inspection days and we love being with the missionaries. We try to take them out to eat if time permits. The first picture is of Elder Smith from Kent, England and his companion Elder McNichol from Australia in front of their flat. The next two pictures are of Elder Burri from Switzerland and Elder Hummer from Murry, Utah at one of their favorite places to eat.

Branch Talent Show

I made a mistake on my last blog. The poem was read by Sister Shambrook . The bottom picture is not very clear but Sister Pomfret's talent is being able to pack a lot in a small area. Several people tried but could not get everything in the container. Here is Sister Allen showing she thinks it is impossible with Sister Pomfret looking on. Sister Pomfret was able to do it. We are having her help us pack when we leave Wales. I couldn't believe what she got in the small container.

It was a wonderful night of talent sharing and more than that of sharing friendships and time together.

Branch Talent Show

Our Branch President is amazing and sang and played the guitar for our talent show along with participating with the young men in several skits. President Williams participates in an All Men's choir in the community. We want to go and hear him some day.

Branch Talent Show

I tried to capture the acts on the stage but because of the movement of some of the acts the pictures are not very clear. The first picture is of a beautiful young woman, Jennifer Harding. She was dancing and was incredible but it was hard to capture a clear picture. Next is Lienna Pomfret, another amazingly talented and beautiful young woman. She sang and has a beautiful voice and has a natural presence on the stage The young girl is Martha Williams and she sang and danced and was wonderful!!! We were so proud of her. Three individuals we love so much and they so willing shared their talents.

Branch Talent Night

Here is TJ Pomfret with her display. Very lovely. Next is the Shambrook family with multiple wonderful entries and the third picture is a cake that Kris Allen made all by himself. It was delicious!!! His mother Sister Allen also displayed many remarkable items. And the fourth picture was of Shirley's amazing dolls. She is Sister Beverly Pomfret's lovely mother. Cheryl Davies also did a marvelous display of her sketchings, her needle point, her sewing, her knitting, her crocheting and her jewelry . What an amazing lady!!! So much talent in such a little branch!!!

Transfer Day

We had the privilege of going to Mission headquarters this week at the request of our mission president and participate in "transfer day". They rent buses to pick up the missionaries that are being transferred or are new since the last transfer and take them to mission headquarters. I can not explain to you how amazing it was to be with these dedicated young people and hear them share their gospel experiences. My camera went dead and I was unable to get further pictures of the trip but what an amazing day. We saw missionaries who had served together previously greet each other with such love and excitement & we heard inspiring remarks from our mission president and his wife. The new missionaries stood up on a ramp an were introduced telling everyone where they came from and where they were assigned to serve. We were part of the new group since they had not done this since we came out. The cheers we all received made us feel we could do anything with the Lord as our partner!!!!

We had a wonderful family home evening this week at our Stake President's home. Here is a picture of President Allen, his wife Dianne, his daughters Charley-Lee and Naomi, his son Kris and his mother Wendy. Michael was at work and was unable to be there. Sister Allen serves as a counselor in the Stake YW Presidency, Michael as First Counselor in our Branch Presidency and Wendy as the Branch Music Leader. The teenagers in this family are very strong in the gospel. We were so impressed with their imput in our family home evening lesson. They are a wonderful family and give tremendous leadership to a very large area that really needs their strength and direction. We love this great family and have been so welcomed by them.

Here are Jennifer Dart and her husband who have become good friends to us. We went out to eat with them this week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Jennifer is a member of the church but her husband is not. They both are simply delightful. In the past Jennifer has helped the young missionaries a lot. They are trying to move back to England to be near their children. We will miss them very much but in the meantime Jennifer is starting to come back to church and also enjoy the church activities.
